Cookies and Local Storage

What the website stores in your browser, and what it deliberately does not.

The short version

The website does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. It stores a few preferences in your browser’s local storage, plus one functional cookie that remembers the city chosen for you from your network location. There is no account and no advertising script on deendock.com.

The Android app is a separate matter: it displays ads through Google AdMob, which may use identifiers within the app. That is described in the privacy policy.

Cookies on this website

We do not set cookies for advertising, retargeting, cross-site measurement or social media. Most preferences use local storage. One functional cookie, deendock-city, remembers the nearby city derived from your IP address — or, when your network address cannot be determined, from your browser’s time zone — for up to 30 days. It holds a city name only, so the first page load already shows your city, and it is never sent to third parties.

A hosting or security provider may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the service from abuse. Such a cookie is not used to build a profile.

Local storage we use

  • Theme preference. Remembers whether you chose light, dark or system mode.
  • Selected city. Remembers the city you picked so prayer times open where you expect.
  • Install banner state. Remembers how often the mobile app banner has been seen, whether it has been dismissed, and when it may appear again. Dismissal lasts seven days.

These values stay on your device. They are not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to identify you across other websites.

Analytics

If privacy-friendly analytics are enabled for a deployment, they are provided by Plausible. Plausible is cookieless: it does not store cookies, does not collect personal identifiers and does not track you across sites. It records aggregate page views and events such as install-button clicks. A deployment without analytics enabled records nothing beyond standard server logs.

Advertising

The website carries no advertising. The Android app uses Google AdMob to stay free. AdMob may use a device advertising ID and related signals inside the app, subject to your device settings and any consent flow. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Managing your storage

You can clear site data at any time in your browser settings. Clearing it resets your theme, city and install-banner state — the site will still work, and you can choose again.

To delete data stored by the app, use Android Settings → Apps → DeenDock → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app. For a formal request, email support@deendock.com.

Changes and contact

If the storage we use changes, this page will be updated with the new keys and their purpose. The date at the top shows the current version.
